Abstract

The interview with Professor Dr. Antonio Carlos Pinheiro was carried out by the team of the Scientific Initiation Project (PIC) of the Federal University of Roraima (UFRR). The project was entitled “The construction of the dynamic model: didactic framework in geography for city teaching” developed between 2023 and 2024. The interview was mediated by Prof. Dr. David Almeida and it took place in December 2023, in João Pessoa (PB). The proposal presents the dissertation “The construction of dynamic model: a socio-historical strategy for teaching geography” advocated by the interviewee at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (SP) in 1997. In a relaxed chat, Antonio Carlos recalls stories and professional experiences in Basic Education and Higher Education and points out the peculiarities of building a dynamic model. This dynamics results as a strategy for teaching themes related to the city in geography classes.
